Dr. Mike Woods
Founder & Lead Archaeologist
An award-winning landscape archaeologist and geophysicist specialising in the prehistory of the British Isles, particularly the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age ritual landscapes. Dr. Woods holds a high 1st in both his undergraduate and Master's degrees, and completed his PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University. His work has been featured on BBC's Digging for Britain, Sky Travel's Expedition Unknown, and Channel 5's Digging Up Britain's Past. He was the on-set archaeologist for HBO's House of the Dragon season 2.
Tom Blackburn
Experimental Archaeologist & Metalworker
A Research Masters student at Manchester Metropolitan University specializing in experimental archaeology, particularly Iron and Bronze work. With 10 years of experience as a professional metalworker based in Macclesfield, Tom combines traditional craftsmanship with academic research. He is passionate about community engagement, teaching ancient blacksmithing and smelting techniques, and has pioneered innovative approaches combining 3D printing and modern technology to study ancient metallurgy.
Callum Humphreys Thornton
Prehistory Specialist & Community Archaeologist
A professional archaeologist and Masters student at the University of York specialising in early prehistory and human origins, with recent research focusing on the role of community in art during the Upper Palaeolithic. Callum has worked for leading archaeological firms including Cotswold Archaeology on major infrastructure projects. He is deeply committed to community involvement and accessibility in archaeology, combining his expertise with hands-on education and folk music traditions from his native Mid Wales.
